烟草系统再爆巨震：一天3人落马
China's tobacco industry has been shaken again by yet another corruption scandal, with three people arrested in a single day.
烟草业的腐败丑闻又一次来势凶猛，3人在当天就被逮捕了。
On Friday morning, Zhuang Deshui, deputy director of the National Tobacco Monopoly Administration (NTMA) and former head of China National Tobacco Corporation (CNTC), was taken away by investigators from China's top anti-graft agency. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said Zhuang had "seriously violated laws". He is the highest ranking official to be detained since President Xi Jinping took office and vowed to crack down on graft in 2013.

Soon afterwards, two other senior officials were also detained: Yan Jiehe, chairman of CNTC subsidiary Yunnan Tobacco Co., and Zhao Huimin, vice president at the same company. Both men stand accused of "violating regulations" according to CCDI statements released later on Friday night. However no further details have been provided about either case or their alleged crimes.
