Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's first whirlwind diplomatic tour took him to five countries in seven days. He visited Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from January 28 to February 3. His visit was aimed at strengthening ties with the Central Asian countries and cementing regional stability and development. In each country he met with his counterparts and discussed topics ranging from economic cooperation to combating terrorism. He used the visits as an opportunity to emphasize China's commitment to peace and security in the region while reaffirming Beijing’s unwavering support for its strategic partners.
