Rescue operations are underway at the site of a plane crash in Nepal that killed 49 people on board.

The US-Bangla Airlines flight from Dhaka, Bangladesh crashed onto a football field near Kathmandu Airport shortly before 2 pm local time on Monday. There were 67 passengers and four crew members onboard the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft when it went down. The other 18 people survived with injuries and have been hospitalized for treatment. Many of them sustained serious burn injuries due to a massive fire after the crash. Investigations into what caused the accident are still ongoing.
